Race Times: TX, OK, KS: 7:30 AM (CT); CO, NM: 6:30 AM (MT)
Packet Pickup / Pasta Dinner: Tuesday, March 19, 4:00-6:00 PM, at XIT Museum, Dalhart, TX. The Dalhart Chamber caters the Pasta Dinner with excellent food and hospitality!
Race Day Packet Pickup / Registration: 1.5 hours before Regular Start time on race day, at the start line.

Average Temps: Low 28/High 61
Time Limit: None. We have a “no runner left behind” policy, and we happily stay until the final finisher crosses the line. Walkers are always welcome!
Pets/Strollers: Pets are not allowed, for the safety and comfort of our runners/walkers; you’re welcome to bring a stroller if you have small children.

Discounts: $10 discount on marathon/half marathon to active military, as well as members of any club that will list these events on their calendar. (Active.com requires a code to receive discount, which you can find on the club’s site or by contacting us.) We also offer a discount for local participants; contact us for details.
Food/aid stations: Due to our unique multi-loop course setup, we have one giant “aid station,” with more food and drink than you could ever need! Ask anyone who’s run at least one of our races; we’ve got everything from fruit to jelly beans to sandwiches, water to Gatorade to hot coffee, and everything in between. Way more than just granola bars and bananas–we even have our very own mobile kitchen, Loony Lunchbox!

  • Day 1: Texas
    • Rita Blanca Park
    • Dalhart, TX
    • GPS: N 36.03652, W 102.50613
    • Course Surface: Mix of soft and hard-packed small gravel (some runners might want gaiters) and some small to moderate hills.
    • Tentative Course Laps: 4 for Marathons
  • Day 2: New Mexico
    • Clayton Lake State Park
    • Clayton, NM
    • GPS: N 36.57397, W 103.30110
    • Course Surface: Mix of asphalt, loose gravel, and hard-packed gravel. Hilly course.
    • Tentative Course Laps: 10 for Marathon
  • Day 3: Oklahoma
    • Thompson Park
    • 827 NW 5th Street
    • Guymon, OK
    • GPS: N 36.68038, W 101.49817
    • Course Surface: Concrete sidewalk with a couple cracks (can be “toe-catchers”) and one moderate hill (~20′).
    • Tentative Course Laps: 14 for Marathon
  • Day 4: Kansas
    • Frazier Park/Brentwood Golf Course
    • Ulysses, KS
    • GPS: N 37.56545, W 101.336045
    • Course Surface: Asphalt covered with some loose gravel and a few small areas of hard-packed gravel, little to no hills.
    • Tentative Course Laps: 14 for Marathon
  • Day 5: Colorado
    • By the intersection of Rotary Way and Willow Valley Road
    • Lamar, CO
    • GPS: N 38.071981, W 102.614352
    • Course Surface: Mix of asphalt, loose gravel, and hard-packed gravel. One long gradual hill and one short steep hill (~15).
    • Tentative Course Laps: 14 for Marathon

 

Travel distances/times between race locations:

  • Day 1 (TX) => Day 2 (NM): 46 miles, 0:45
  • Day 2 (NM) => Day 3 (OK): 105 miles, 1:44
  • Day 3 (OK) => Day 4 (KS): 70 miles, 1:16
  • Day 4 (KS) => Day 5 (CO): 100 miles, 1:44

*The new order of states for 2019 has reduced the total mileage by more than 60 miles – more time for recovery and relaxation!

What about the bling?
We all know that’s the best part! Every participant (full or half marathon) will receive one t-shirt and other fun goodies.
All finishers will receive a separate medal for each day; in addition, we give a special medal to those who complete all races in a series.
We even give a special award to each person participating in his or her first full or half marathon!
The best part: The famous caboose, given to the final finisher of each marathon and half marathon!
